For patients who need regular medication we run a repeat prescription system. Drugs authorised for repeat are listed in the right-hand side (white) of the prescription.

Please tick on this list to order medication as necessary.

greepillsIf you are taking regular medication the doctor may decide to authorize repeat prescriptions. You will usually be given a repeat request slip during consultation.

You can also register with our website to make online requests for repeat prescriptions.

We require at least 72 working hours for your prescription to be processed. This excludes weekends and bank holidays, when the practice is closed. Prescriptions brought in on a Friday will be ready for collection the following Wednesday.

Any requests submitted using hospital outpatient prescription requests will also need 72 working hours to process.

Please make your request in writing, giving your full name address and details of the medication required.

We do not ordinarily accept telephone requests for prescriptions unless you are housebound or find yourself in an emergency situation. This is to avoid the possibility of inaccuracies and blocking the busy telephone lines.

WE NOW MANAGE ALL OUR PRESCRIPTIONS ELECTRONICALLY (EPS). THIS MEANS THAT PRESCRIPTIONS CAN NOW BE SENT DIRECT TO THE PHARMACY OF YOUR CHOICE ELECTRONICALLY.

However there are some prescribed medications that cannot be sent electronically due to safety alert restrictions. These prescriptions will need to be printed out and collected either from the surgery or can be posted to patient with stamped addressed envelope provided by the patient or the patient can make arrangements with the local pharmacy for collection.

Prescription requests can be made in writing either in person/post/online.
