Training and Teaching

Here at Shaftesbury Medical Centre we have a keen interest in the teaching and training of future healthcare professionals. Dr Nizamuddin  teaches medical students from Royal London & St Bartholomew's Medical School.

We thank all the patients who have kindly agreed to participate in the teaching and training of our students. Consent will always be obtained from our patients and patient choice will be adhered to.

We have also been approved as a GP Training Practice by the London Deanery (Health Education North West London) to train qualified doctors training to become GPs. Dr Musa is the approved GP Trainer for the Northwick Park GP Training Scheme since 2013. Dr Nizamuddin is the approved Trainer for Central Middlesex GP Training Scheme since 2020. Both Dr Musa , Dr Nizamuddin and the Practice have to undertake re-approval visits periodically to maintain Training Status and ensure that standards are being met.

There is strong history and culture of learning and teaching in the practice which has extended to other health professionals such as training of Physician Associates and Nurses over the last few years.

We also have an open door policy for Work Experience especially those interested in pursuing a career in Medicine. We are an associated Partner with Harrow College Work Experience and regularly receive work experience students.
